I have been up in Carlisle for a friends wedding and had the chance to go to the amazing Bookcase book store there. I only had a little while inside but it is the best book store I have been to in a long time. Hundreds upon hundreds of second hand books, first editions etc. I went for this copy of Confessions Of An English Opium Eater by Thomas De Quincey. It has that lovely old book smell. First published in 1822 this copy is from 1912. 100 years old. Awesome.
This made me so sad today, it’s a dove house that has not only been abandoned but has been covered in wire mesh so no birds can live in it. It could make some birds a lovely home x
